Growth Curves – the 16 major Red Cultivars

These growth curves are from plants potted and pinched at Purdue University. They were placed in commercial greenhouses at Galema's in West Lafayette, IN on September 15, 2003. Plants were grown under natural day photoperiods. Purdue staff members measured weekly heights of plants that were randomized within Galema’s plants. Remember that these growth curves depend on cutting quality, sunlight, watering, fertility, and other production factors. They are, however, useful in helping growers understand the growth characteristics of each cultivar.
